Senate candidate John Fetterman will swing through the Lehigh Valley on Nov. 3, 2022 as part of a "Get Out the Vote" canvassing event for U.S. Rep. Susan Wild.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - John Fetterman, Democratic candidate for the open U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania, plans to appear during a canvass kickoff 3-6 p.m. Nov. 3 at Trexler Memorial Park, 155 Springhouse Road in Allentown.

The kickoff, in local, mutual support for U.S. Rep. Susan Wild (D-Lehigh/Monroe) is an event for volunteers who will go door-to-door canvassing for Democratic votes in next Tuesday’s midterm elections.

Volunteers will be briefly trained before they head out into neighborhoods and are asked to wear “comfy walking shoes and bring a water bottle and a fully-charged smartphone,” according to a release/invitation distributed Wednesday by the Congresswoman’s campaign.

The latest polls, including a Monmouth University Poll released Wednesday, indicate that concerns about Fetterman’s health following his stroke, particularly following the Oct. 26 televised debate, have been raised by some voters.

While the contest has narrowed, Fetterman appears to retain a slight edge in Monmouth's polling. Other polls show a very close race, with the candidates tied or Oz now in the lead.

FiveThirtyEight, which gives polling average updates, now shows a statistical tie, with Fetterman at 46.8% and Oz at 46.1%.

Prior to his stop in Allentown, Fetterman is scheduled to hold a campaign event in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday with U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton.

The event is billed as a conversation with Fetterman and Casey on “Making the Economy Work for Working People.”

Meanwhile, Oz is slated to hold his own Northeast Pennsylvania event Thursday in South Abington Twp. in Lackawanna County and is also advertising a meet and greet in Hazleton on election eve.
