ALLENTOWN, Pa. - “Lets go blue, we’re going to turn Pennsylvania a deep dark blue,” said Emhoff.
Emhoff rallied a crowd of about 40 in Downtown Allentown. The Democratic party has been hosting smaller events to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“President Trump talked about American carnage and at the time he was making it up. But now it's here, this is a country in shambles, and it's a direct result of his failure of leadership. He has caused an American carnage hasn't he…”
Emhoff said he was being sent to places the Biden campaign thinks will be tight races. Matthew Munsey is with the Northampton County Democratic Committee.
“We know that it's gonna be close. It's usually close here specially in Northampton and that means everybody's vote is gonna matter,” said Munsey.
Emhoff was joined by Congresswoman Susan Wild and Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who are running for re-elections in November. They spoke to the crowd about Democratic priorities such as voting by mail, the environment and health care.
If Biden wins the presidency, Kamala Harris would be the first woman vice president, making Emhoff the first second husband, or as Shapiro called him, the first "second dude."
