Some residents who already voted by mail received an email saying their mail-in ballot was being sent to them. Voter registration says it was a mistake.
The email went to people who may have already received a ballot or even dropped it off. Calls to the county election office were directed to the following voice recording Tuesday on the main number.
If you have recently received an email, a second email, saying a ballot is going out to you. Please disregard this message. It was sent out inadvertently and there will not be another ballot coming to you.
The Lehigh County Voter Office released a statement on Facebook:
"NOTICE: Many people who already voted received an email that another mail-in ballot is on the way. This message was sent out in error due to dates overlapping and should be disregarded. Please be advised this error will not impact your vote and a second mail-in ballot will not be sent out. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused."
State Representative Mike Schlossberg of Allentown says he received several calls. He spoke with county officials and says there's no cause for alarm.
Lehigh County residents: You may have received an Email saying that your ballot was on the way to you, even if you voted already or already had your ballot. THE EMAIL WAS SENT IN ERROR. You can ignore it. You will not be sent a second ballot, and your already-cast vote will count

Schlossberg and a county spokesperson say you can ignore the email because you won't be sent a second ballot-- the ballot you already cast will count.
They say the error involved dates that overlapped in a county database.
