EASTON, Pa. — Two Rivers Brewing Company will partner with the Easton Cemetery to replace a legendary relic of the grave of a notable Rough Rider buried in Easton.

Twelve years ago, Troy Reynard was developing what would become Two Rivers when he came across an account of Col. Charles Wikoff, who lost his left eye at the Battle of Shiloh, earning him the moniker “Colonel Left Eye.”

Wikoff stayed with the Army and went on to fight and die in the Spanish-American War with future President Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders.

In honor of his legacy, Reynard named his flagship IPA “Colonel Left Eye IPA.”

A few years later, he happened to discover Wikoff’s body was interred at Easton Cemetery. The only issue? His monument was missing his bronzed sword, which originally sat atop the structure.

That bothered Reynard, who eventually partnered with Easton Cemetery to replace the sword and raise awareness of the historic cemetery.

Former Eastonian and filmmaker Lance Miccio, who helped with the film “The Rough Riders," will be on hand with Holt McCallany, who appeared in the movie and recently starred in the Netflix hit “Mindhunter.”

Friday’s event will include music by the Barrel House Brothers, a screening of “The Rough Riders” movie, food and drinks and an optional VIP experience for $50, which includes a Left Eye t-shirt, souvenir pint glass, two pints of Colonel Left Eye and appetizers from 6-8 p.m.
