An interactive map at Easton's NuHouse will help promote charitable giving and bolster the holiday spirit through Dec. 23 this year.

EASTON, Pa. — In the holiday spirit, local businesses will come together for a campaign to celebrate the connections between Easton residents and their favorite businesses.

And it all supports Family Connection of Easton and the families it serves.

A large, interactive map at NuHouse, 19 S. Bank St. in the city, will track donations and illuminate the spirit of giving across the city.

It's part of a visual experiment led by local attorney Frank Santini and NuHouse health and wellness club founder Janel Lukachek.

"Seeing this living map of Easton can offer a real sense of our community coming together, and galvanizing for good."

The floor-to-ceiling living map also will function as an art piece that tracts the holiday spirit.

Local businesses popped by on Tuesday, Dec. 9, to weave their webs through town, with plans to conduct the same event on Wednesday, Dec. 10, and Thursday, Dec. 11.

Through Dec. 23, every participating business will be able to add threads that expand the web, illustrating connectedness in the community and its people.

Interested parties can swing by to see the map grow in real time as donors place pins and threads.

Donors have an opportunity to dedicate their gift in support of their favorite local businesses, and leading businesses will “shine brightest” on the maps.

'A web of caring neighbors'

“This campaign illuminates the giving spirit," program organizer Lukachek said.

“Seeing this living map of Easton can offer a real sense of our community coming together, and galvanizing for good. Come add your thread and strengthen the web.”

Santini said every donation will become “a living thread that connects the people of Easton.”

All of the donations will go to Family Connection of Easton, helping local children and families.

“It’s a web of caring neighbors, small businesses, and families looking out for each other,” Santini said.

NuHouse is an integrative collective offering a next-level movement studio, infrared sauna, acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage, beauty, nutrition and more, all in the name of redefining wellness in the modern era.

Family Connection of Easton is the family center for Easton Area School District.

It helps children succeed in school by engaging and supporting families, removing barriers to learning, developing positive family-school-community connections, and providing extra learning opportunities.
