EASTON, Pa. — With Heritage Day just around the corner, the Greater Easton Development Partnership is calling upon local residents to volunteer for one of the city’s biggest events.
Heritage Day 2025, set for July 12, is ramping up with the event being shifted to Saturday this year instead of its traditional Sunday to accommodate more guests.
But these things don’t just come together all on their own. The day includes historical reenactments, live music, food and fireworks.
GEDP has put out the call for any willing and able (to carry 40 pounds or more) volunteers (age 18 or older) to make the historical festival a success.
“We have a small but mighty team here at GEDP, but we couldn't do what we do without volunteers: everything from setting up the Farmers Market every Saturday to some of our major events, like Heritage Day and Bacon Fest,” GEDP Executive Director Jared Mast said.
“It's a great way to meet people out in the community, to help your community, and to make your backyard a better place to live. So we definitely encourage people to volunteer with GEDP or any nonprofit that's doing good work in the community.”
Currently, the group is on the lookout for those willing to help with setup and breakdown for the festival, which will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Downtown Easton.
Those interested can sign up on the GEDP’s Volunteer Local page, or by sending an email to andrea@eastonpartnership.org.
The GEDP Volunteer Local page also features opportunities to pitch in at other Easton festivals and recurring events like the Easton Farmers Market, the West Ward Market, and the Easton Garden Works.
Those who volunteer will receive a Heritage Day volunteer shirt.
