EASTON, Pa. — The holiday spirit continues to spread across Easton as the Farmers’ Market is offering up free photos with the legendary Santa himself, along with plenty of other festive events, starting Dec. 2.
As the season of celebration, family gatherings and gift-giving kicks into gear, the Easton Farmers’ Market has scheduled several special activities to add a dash of holiday spirit to their slew of Saturday festivities.
Easton Farmers’ Market is starting off with free photos with Santa and his adorable merry goats, Millie and Mimi – you might recognize them from market vendor The Bubbly Goat – in Scott Park along the picturesque riverside from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can also get a shot of your dog with Santa, though the goats cannot join them.
While you’re waiting on Father Christmas and his funny four-hoofed friends, catch the tunes of the Galena Brass – also known as “The Little Brass Band of the Lehigh Valley” – who will be strolling the market from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 2 and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 9, with their festive sounds reverberating across the venue.
Beyond the special events, the Market is also a perfect stop for planning holiday meals, including locally grown produce and fresh herbs, pasture-raised meats and eggs, wine, artisan baked goods, honey, freshly roasted coffee, and a plethora of prepared foods.
There are also plenty of crafters, makers, and guest vendors offering up a remarkable selection of locally-made gifts ideal for the winter holidays.
The Market will wrap up its run for the season on Dec. 16, and after a brief holiday hiatus, the Winter Market will launch at 325 Northampton Street outside the Easton Public Market on Saturday, Jan. 6. The Winter Market runs from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday through April.
Easton Farmers’ Market holds the title of one of America’s oldest, continuous open-air markets, drawing folks from near and far for locally grown and prepared foods since before the Revolution. The Market is a program stemming from the Greater Easton Development Partnership, and presented by Capital Blue.
With over 45 vendors, the Market has something for everyone. Check out Primordia Mushroom Farm for some phenomenal fungi, Raspberry Ridge Creamery for the most delicious dairy, Mia and Maddie’s Bakery for crave-worthy confections, and so many more for exciting food finds. Looking for blooms and botanicals? Try Holy Cow Flower Farm. Interested in local libations? Hit up Silverback Distillery.
And if you’re on the lookout for unique gifts, check out arts and crafts vendors like Knot Too Shabby Shop or The Sharing Foundation.
Whether you happen to be preparing an everyday meal, shopping for that special someone’s Christmas gift, or getting a photo of your favorite nephews and niece with Santa and his goat pals, the Market has you covered.
