EASTON, Pa. — Authorities identified a body recovered from the Delaware River this week as a 60-year-old Easton man.

Louis A. Cosenza was identified by the Northampton County Coroner's office on Thursday.

His body was recovered Wednesday about 25 feet from the shoreline in Williams Township, state police at Belfast said.

Troopers responded to the area of 830 South Delaware Drive at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday "for a male that was discovered deceased," Trooper Nathan Branosky said.

Chief Deputy Coroner Sarah Keppel said in a release that Cosenza was "using a floatation device" on Saturday when he entered the river and "did not resurface."

He was not wearing a life preserver at the time, the release said.

The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, according to the coroner's office.

The death is among several local waterways this summer.

On June 7, Gary M. Conley, 53, reportedly died from complications associated with drowning in the Delaware River.

Earlier this month, 35-year-old Antwan D. Daring died from drowning in the Lehigh River.

Staff writer Ryan Gaylor contributed to this report.
