State Police report

The driver, only identified Friday as a 51-year-old man from Bethlehem, was taken to a local hospital; his condition was not immediately available.

State troopers and Allentown police are investigating the crash, which closed a block of North Irving Street for several hours Friday morning.

That crash was at least the second this year that occurred in residential areas during state police pursuits. A chase in early February ended in a fiery crash in West Bethlehem.

Authorities allege an Allentown man fled from troopers before crashing into parked cars, causing one to catch fire.

Devon J. Legrand, 38, pleaded guilty to three charges related to the Feb. 3 crash; he faces five charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, stemming from his Dec. 28 arrest by state troopers, court records show.

Legrand is next due in Northampton County court on Sept. 30.
