UPDATE: Pennsylvania State Police released this statement Tuesday afternoon: "Through investigative leads, troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Dublin Station were able to safely locate the 30-year-old female in Riegelsville Borough uninjured. Criminal charges against her are pending."

RIEGELSVILLE, Pa. – A woman is missing after jumping into the Delaware River in Upper Bucks County, near the Northampton County border, state police said Tuesday.

Troop M Dublin Station is “investigating a missing person” from the incident that occurred Monday evening, Trooper Nathan Branosky said in a news release.

According to police:

Troopers were dispatched to Durham Street in Riegelsville Borough just after 6:30 p.m. Monday for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, they discovered a 30-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man had fled the scene.

During a canvas of the area, troopers located the woman and three children walking along the Delaware River. The woman jumped into the river and troopers were able to bring the children to safety, officials said.

Police attempted to rescue the woman but were unable to bring her back to shore.

The Riegelsville Fire Department and the Plumsted Fire Water Rescue Team assisted at the scene, but after two hours the search for the woman was called off.

During the search, the 34-year-old man returned to the scene and was taken into custody on a warrant.

Troopers from PSP Dublin will continue the investigation Tuesday, Branosky confirmed. The woman continues to be classified as “missing,” he said.
