Two men were arrested after state police conducted a traffic stop located illicit drugs after searching the vehicle.

GLENDON, Pa. — Authorities arrested two out-of-state men after seizing about 20,000 fentanyl pills during a traffic stop, officials said Thursday.

Jorge Joel Gomez Guzmen, of Maryland, and Maykol Jeffrie Goris Hiciano, of New York, are in Northampton County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail, Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta announced.

On Oct. 29, state police conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 78 in Glendon and identified Goris Hiciano as the driver and Gomez Guzmen as his passenger, Baratta said.

Goris Hiciano consented to a police search of his vehicle.

During the search, troopers discovered a large Ziplock bag that contained two vacuum-sealed clear plastic bags with small round blue pills — later determined to be fentanyl — marked with the letter "M".

The two were arraigned on Wednesday before District Judge Robert C. Weber.
