Attorney General Dave Sunday on Thursday, July 10, announced the arrest of an Allentown-based drug trafficker after agents seized more than six kilograms of cocaine, five handguns, and a ghost gun with a high-capacity magazine.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man was arrested after local and state investigators seized six handguns and 6 kilograms of cocaine in multiple Lehigh Valley searches Wednesday.

Angel Ferdinan Gil, 32, was arraigned on a felony charge of manufacturing, delivering or possessing illegal drugs with intent to deliver and five counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, according to Lehigh County court documents.

He also faces a misdemeanor charge of possessing a controlled substance.

Angel F. Gil, 32, of Allentown, is charged with felony drug-trafficking and six counts of possession of a prohibited firearm — as Gil has prior felony convictions for drug trafficking and firearms possession.

Gil was in Lehigh County Jail on Thursday morning, unable to post his $500,000 bail, court records show.

Agents from the attorney general’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigations on Wednesday searched residences on Greenleaf Street in Allentown and Nazareth’s Bangor Road, where they seized three handguns, cash and a kilogram of cocaine, according to a news release.

Investigators also searched two vehicles connected to Gil, where they found 5 kilograms of cocaine, $35,000 in cash and two handguns, state authorities said.

The 6 kilograms is equal to a little more than 13 pounds.

Police also seized a “ghost gun” with a high-capacity magazine, according to the Attorney General’s Office. Ghost guns are assembled from readily available or homemade parts, which makes them almost impossible for authorities to trace.

‘Dangerous, high-level cocaine trafficker'

Attorney General Dave Sunday accused Gil of being “a dangerous, high-level cocaine trafficker.”

“This defendant is a repeat offender who possessed deadly weapons, with enhancements for increased proficiency, to protect his highly profitable drug trade,” Sunday said in the release.

Sunday said his office was investigating Gil as a cocaine trafficker in Lehigh and Northampton counties before Wednesday’s searches.

Allentown and Emmaus officers helped state agents in the search, along with the Slate Belt Regional Police Department.

It’s unclear whether Gil has an attorney as of noon Thursday.

Court documents indicate he is being represented by the Lehigh County Public Defender’s Office. An employee of the office said it has not been assigned to his case.
