A second juvenile has been charged in connection with bomb threats made against Saucon Valley School District.

LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. — Police have charged a second juvenile in connection with bomb threats made in Saucon Valley schools last week.

A release Thursday from Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta and Lower Saucon Township police alleged a second juvenile is responsible for the threats.

The new charges come a week after charges were filed against an unidentified girl in juvenile court.

No additional information was given on the second person charged, though the release said the district attorney and police are moving forward with “the filing of appropriate charges of terroristic threats against the second juvenile.”

School closed for two days

On Tuesday, March 19, the school district reached out to Lower Saucon police to report a bomb threat made, leading to a temporary closure.

School also was closed the following day after a second threat was made, though police said no evidence was found to corroborate the threat.

The release noted no actual explosive device of any kind was located, but “the making of any such threat is a serious matter and is being investigated in a serious manner.”

Schools reopened last Friday after the two-day closure with an enhanced police presence as a precaution.

Baratta’s office said further details will be released as available and in a manner to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
