BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A former Lehigh University student sought in connection to threats he allegedly made Sunday night that were directed toward current students at the school has been arrested, authorities said Wednesday.
Muhamad Diop was arrested in New York City, officials said. The Bethlehem Police Department has charged him with making terroristic threats and harassment.
Police said Diop made the threats against a group of students.
The university issued a warning about Diop this week after law enforcement couldn’t locate him, although they had no indication he was in the Lehigh area.
Campus security increased this week, though classes and school operations proceeded normally. Most buildings were only accessible by card swipe.
