CURTIS BAY, Md. - As of this morning, he’s is among the 13 cases [update] in the county and 21 [update] cases in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Valerie Arkoosh chairs the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. She led a briefing about the latest case.
“His symptoms do not require hospitalization and he is currently at home being monitored," said Arkoosh.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, a dry cough, and shortness of breath. Arkoosh urged people with symptoms like that to stay home and to contact a health care provider first
“Please do not show up unannounced at your doctor’s office or any of our hospital emergency departments. It’s critically important that we keep our medical staff safe," said Arkoosh.
Health officials are working to identify Lower Providence Township staff and members of the public -- anyone who may have come in contact with the police officer while infected.
Of Pennsylvania’s 16 presumed confirmed cases so far, two have been confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
