EASTON, Pa. - The food bank is open to everyone, vegan or not, no questions asked and no limits on food items. Terrill Hill of Animal Defenders says options include pantry staples, vegan dog food and grab-and-go options.
“A lot of people come and they haven't eaten today so we asked if you had lunch today and we point out the different sandwiches that we have and they could be like a mock chicken salad,” said Hill.
The non-profit’s effort is supported by local businesses including Santoro’s Franks and Chili, Sunneen Health Foods and Terra Cafe. Owner Marcel Bedoya provides a primetime location for the food bank, on Northampton Street, right off the circle.
“One of the things that we, Black and Blue and Terra Cafe take pride the most, is that we are an active part of the community,” said Bedoya.
The vegan food bank happens every Wednesday, noon to 2 p.m., in front of Terra Cafe.
