SALISBURY TWP., Pa. — More construction is going on at South Mall.
Crews were working inside a building at 3300 Lehigh St. this week, with a sign atop the building that says, "Coming Soon!" beneath the Burlington stores logo.
A spokesperson confirmed Wednesday the store is slated to open this fall.
It would be the fourth Burlington location in the Lehigh Valley — alongside stores in Lower Nazareth Township, Whitehall Township and Trexlertown.

"We are thrilled to bring a new store to the Allentown community, offering residents our everyday low prices on a wide assortment of brand name merchandise for the entire family and home," the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the store will create 67 to 75 jobs.
Job listings for the Allentown location are not currently available. Full- and part-time positions available at the Whitehall Burlington store describe a pay range from $12-16 an hour.
The store sits next to the Ross Dress for Less store in South Mall. It would take over a storefront that formerly operated as Stein Mart in 2020, and later seasonally housed Spirit Halloween.
More happening at mall
The James Balliet Property Group shared on Facebook in November 2024 that Burlington signed a lease for the property.
South Mall shared that post to its own Facebook page, with a mix of reactions from the community.
"I guess South Mall bends over backwards to get the larger stores," Shirl Desch commented. "It's a shame they don't do the same for their smaller stores."
Positive comments rang out, saying, "That's fantastic" and "the comeback of the century is happening!"
On the other side of the lot, construction for the area's new Giant grocery store continues.

On March 17, South Mall shared an update to Facebook about stores open for business and those opening and re-opening soon.
Stores currently open include: BLICK Arts, A1 Hibachi Steakhouse, Mattress Firm, Fine Wine & Good Spirits, Staples, Petco, ROSS, Mavis Discount Tire and Starbucks.
Also, Bank of America, Eric J Loch Diamond Jewelers, Dino's Pizza-Teria, Holiday Hair, PoppTeas, Caring Hearts Thrift Boutique and Back to the Arcade.
Also, Oriental Therapy, Just for U Salon, Bath & Body Works, Dragonknight Gaming & Collectibles, C&I Minerals, T-Mobile, Attic Mice 2 and Attic Mice 2 Deeper Into The Attic.
Also, Ohana Wondertown Playground, Games & More, Eyebrow Threading, The Robin's Nest and Yocco's.
The post also says Signature Day Spa will re-open in a new location soon and S&D Soulicious Cuisine also will open soon.
