SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP, Pa. — Dorney Park is gearing up for its 140th year and plans to hire 2,000 seasonal associates for the 2023 season.

A week-long hiring effort will take place Feb. 18-24, with interviews to be conducted virtually or at the Associate Service Center at 3700 Dorney Park Road, a news release said Monday.

  • The hiring blitz is set for Feb. 18-24
  • Open jobs include ride operators, security, lifeguards and mechanics
  • Applicants can get hired on the spot

The hiring blitz is part of the largest-ever recruiting campaign by Dorney Park’s parent company, Cedar Fair Entertainment, the release said.
Open positions include ride operators, lifeguards, security, food and beverage and other roles in park services.

Applicants will have the ability to apply, interview and get hired on the spot.

“Our associates play an instrumental role in delivering our commitment to creating memorable experiences for all of our guests. We are proud to offer competitive wages, amazing perks, and unique benefits as one of many ways to do that,” said Jessica Naderman, vice president and general manager, in the release.

The company is offering rates between $12 to $18 per hour, but says it will pay rates up to $20 per hour for specialized entry-level positions.

"The positions that pay $20 an hour are ones that require experience or certifications," said Ryan Eldredge, the park's public relations manager.

Eldredge said Dorney Park will help the right candidate acquire those certifications if they don't have them, and traditionally these positions are in safety, security, and maintenance.

The park is also planning to hire several full-time positions, including mechanics.

According to the release, job perks include flexible scheduling, discounts, reward and recognition programs and free admission to any Cedar Fair park.

Cedar Fair owns and operates 11 amusement parks, four outdoor water parks, an indoor water park and various RV campsites and resorts in the U.S. and Canada.

Dorney Park has more than 100 rides and attractions, including seven roller coasters, along with a water park with 26 water slides and two giant wave pools. The park is known for its special themed festivals, including Halloween Haunt.
