UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. - Sharp, a clinical supply and pharmaceutical packaging company headquartered in Upper Macungie Township, currently employs more than a 1,000 people.
It plans to expand existing operations and open a new 170,000-square-foot facility that it recently acquired in the borough of Macungie.
This week, Gov. Tom Wolf commended the company for its investment in Pennsylvania’s manufacturing sector.
Sharp received some state funding toward the multi-million dollar project, including a $1.5 million Pennsylvania First grant.
Founded in Conshohocken, Montgomery County, in 1952, Sharp opened its Lehigh Valley headquarters in Upper Macungie in 2004.
The company says it expects to create about 335 local, full-time jobs over the course of the next three years.
