BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Six students were taken to the hospital Wednesday following a head-on collision involving a school bus, according to the Bethlehem Area School District.
A car collided with the bus Wednesday afternoon in a South Bethlehem neighborhood, a fire official said.
"Fourteen Executive Academy Charter School students were on board," the school district said in a social media post. "Six students were taken to the hospital. Injuries unknown. Authorities to contact parents."
It happened shortly after 2 p.m. on East Fourth Street, between Duncan and Edward streets, not far from Donegan Elementary School.
The driver of the car wasn’t seriously hurt.
Two of the students were taken by Bethlehem EMS to the hospital for minor injuries, city fire Capt. Kevin Landis initially said at the scene. Another bus was dispatched to get children back on their route and home.
“Some parents have seen and come to the scene,” Landis said.
