BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Book club, anyone?
Or maybe “the Good Book” club, as some would call it.
Bethlehem City Council at its June 18 meeting unanimously approved a use permit agreement for a local church’s Bible-reading marathon planned Aug. 2-11 at Johnston Park.

That’s just up Monocacy Creek from downtown’s Colonial Industrial Quarter, an action-packed area during Musikfest filled with music, food trucks, vendors and other attractions.
The marathon reading event isn’t associated with the festival.

Lehigh Valley Grace Brethren Church said those interested can expect to hear, or may even sign up to read themselves, Genesis 1 through Revelation 22 in 15-minute segments from noon-9 p.m. each day.

Anyone wanting to take part may sign up here for one or multiple 15-minute slots.
Volunteers also are needed for setup and teardown each day, according to the schedule.
There currently appears to be various afternoon and evening availability across all days of the event.
