FOUNTAIN HILL., Pa. — Fountain Hill's latest 2026 borough budget proposal includes a 1-mill tax increase, a version Borough Council moved forward Monday.

Council voted unanimously to accept a budget proposal raising taxes to 11.61 mills in 2026, and directed officials to advertise the measure and prepare for a final vote next month.

“It comes down to the level of investment that Council wants and the community wants to see in the borough. That’s a discussion that we had as part of the process.”

The 1-mill hike, not present in previous drafts of the borough’s 2026 budget, would raise the tax bill for a home valued at $250,000 for tax purposes from about $2,650 to $2,900.

Versions of the budget reviewed at a pair of earlier meetings this year did not include a tax increase.
