Crowds stroll down Main Street in Bethlehem during Musikfest.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Air conditioning can be a hot commodity at Musikfest, and there's one place you can go to cool down and fill up this year.

Creative consultant and muralist Kyle Edwards, owner of A True Love Story LLC, will hold a summer market in Downtown Bethlehem that will serve as a cool-off zone for Musikfest.

  • An indoor market will bring together local vendors and artisans during Musikfest
  • It will be open in the Main Street Commons and feature beer from McCall Collective and food from Uno Taqueria
  • Donations will be collected for the Cay Galgon Life House

The indoor space at the Main Street Commons — known as the market — is designed to bring local vendors, artisans and charitable efforts into one space.

Located in Suite 110 (550 Main St.) from now until Aug. 20, hours of operation are from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The market will be closed Mondays.

The space is designed for 15 vendors to sell their wares, and also includes a playroom to keep kids entertained.

Local food, local beer

McCall Beer Flight

McCall Collective Brewing, known for its brew pub in Allentown and a taphouse in Breinigsville, will fill Musikfest mugs throughout the festival.

McCall has made a splash in the Lehigh Valley’s craft beer scene, brewing all of its beers on Susquehanna Street in Allentown.

At the market, it will offer a number of beers in cans including:

  • Vida Lima, a collab with Free Will Brewing
  • Through the Woods, a Christmas in July Hazy IPA
  • Noc, a dark Czech Pilsner
  • Swamp Bass, a summer ale
  • Birdie Juice, a session IPA
  • Streetcar Common, a California Common
  • Living Here in Allentown, a collab with Bru Daddys
  • Out Back, an Australia themed hazy IPA

It also will offer Wild Wooder on draft, an annual Summer Hazy IPA.

Folks looking for a bite to eat can also try a burrito from Uno Taqueria, a popular fast-casual eatery based in Lower Macungie.

On-site, its burritos typically are a 12-inch flour tortilla filled with Mexican rice, rancheros beans, a protein choice and cheese, accompanied with sour cream.

“We are thrilled to have so many local businesses and artisans participating," Edwards said in a news release. "They are the lifeblood of our economy. I’m just honored to have a true l.o.v.e story.,llc play a small role in their individual stories.”

A greater cause

The market also is working with a local charity to collect items for displaced mothers and children.

The Cay Galgon Life House in Bethlehem has been open for more than a decade at the former St. Simon and Jude Convent on West Broad Street. It serves as a group home for unhoused pregnant women and their babies and focuses on healthy pregnancies and educational/vocational support.

According to its website, donations accepted and appreciated include:

For Baby: Diapers (preemie to size 6), wipes, baby wash, diaper cream, bottles, pacifiers, baby washcloths and bath towels, and new/gently used baby clothing (preemie through 3T)

For Mom: 2-n-1 shampoo and conditioner, body wash, deodorant, razors, and new/gently used maternity clothing
