"We're excited to welcome the community back to the library for our book sale after a period of closure for renovations," said BAPL Executive Director Josh Berk. "The BAPL book sale is a great way for book lovers to find their next favorite read while supporting the library at the same time."
Berk said that there are about 1,000 books donated every week.
"There are always hundreds of people who attend each day," he said. "They get here early and the line goes out the door well before it opens."
Out of all the donations, Berk said there are some rare and early editions of some children's books such as The Little Engine That Could, a Pinocchio and some Babar, with also many art books the library has received this month.
"Our staff picks include some personal favorites like Jack Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson, and Kurt Vonnegut," he added.
The funds raised from the sale will go towards supporting BAPL's programs and services. Additionally, the library is accepting donations of gently used books and media ahead of the sale. These contributions can be dropped off during regular business hours.
