BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The show will go on in person at Musikfestonce again this year amid the ongoing pandemic.
The largest free music festival in the nation begins Thursday and organizers say they are doing what they can to help keep people safe and healthy.
The Bethlehem Health Bureau and Musikfest officials collaborate each year on what protocols should be in place at the event.
Kassie Hilgert, president and chief executive officer of ArtsQuest, the non-profit organization hosting the city’s premiere event, said masking and social distancing won’t be required but there will be hand sanitizing stations available throughout the fest.
“The Bethlehem Health Department will be handing out rapid tests at their location, which will be right at the end of the Main Street Bridge, right down below Hotel Bethlehem. So people are certainly encouraged to stop by there and take a rapid test if they would like to,” Hilgert said.
Anyone is welcome to wear a mask at their venues and she recommends anyone who feels sick should stay home.
Lehigh Valley Health Network will also have tents on both sides of the festival for any other medical needs.
