Instead, she’s spent almost 800 days as a shelter dog, waiting to find her special someone or family.
Benita is a shepherd / Labrador retriever who was found as a stray before arriving at the shelter.
She’s a simple girl who loves the simple things in life like playing fetch and napping in the sun.
She’s most in her element though (literally) when she gets to be in water! Whether it’s in a kiddie pool or a stream, river or lake, Benita loves swimming and splashing around.
Benita would love to find a family that would play fetch with her and take her swimming – and might even have a fenced-in back yard where she could spend the afternoon lounging in the sun.
Benita can be a little nervous about meeting new people, but with a trusted friend by her side and some time to get to know you, she can be the biggest sweetheart you'll ever know.
This senior gal would do best in an adult-only home and would prefer to be your one and only. After all, she’s been waiting a very long time and deserves to be the center of your attention.
