ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Miller Symphony Hall in Allentown will hold a special concert to unite people in support of Ukraine.
For Ukraine: A Concert of Remembrance and Hope, will be at 3 p.m. Aug. 20. Miller Symphony Hall and The Allentown Band present the event to celebrate Ukraine's Independence Day on Aug. 24.

Tickets to the concert, at $15 to $45, are available at millersymphonyhall.org, or at the hall at 23 N. 6th St., Allentown.
The organization notes that The Allentown Symphony Orchestra will not appear during this performance.
Allentown Band Conductor Ronald Demkee promised a memorable experience with a mix of wonderful music.
"Lots of wonderful music, some familiar, some new, and an internationally acclaimed composer conducting his own symphony that features a world-class soloist and an outstanding youth chorus," Demkee said in a news release.
The performance will feature soloist Patricia Risley, mezzo-soprano and a special appearance by The Bel Canto Youth Chorus of The Bach Choir of Bethlehem.
Guest conductor Johan de Meij will lead his "Symphony No. 4 Symphony of Songs," expressing both loss and hope through its movements.
The repertoire also will include pieces by Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko and others that the venue said a release will evoke "optimism, support, introspection and victory, along with the passion found in the Ukrainian National Anthem."
The concert will contribute directly to helping the people of Ukraine facing challenges and hardships. Net proceeds will go toward supporting Ukrainian humanitarian efforts.
