UPPER SAUCON TWP, Pa. — If you’ve driven past a once-quiet storefront at Promenade Saucon Valley and you’re curious what’s bringing new life to the space, Wonder no more.

No, really.

Wonder, a fast-growing food and delivery concept that blends elements of a food hall, restaurant and delivery service, is coming to the Promenade this summer, it was announced Tuesday.

The New York City-based Wonder is a concept that offers customers access to dozens of menu options, as broad a selection as burgers and pizza, international cuisines and chef-driven concepts. All will be prepared inside a single, centralized kitchen.

The New York City-based Wonder is a concept that offers customers access to dozens of menu options, as broad a selection as burgers and pizza, international cuisines and chef-driven concepts.

All will be prepared inside a single, centralized kitchen.

Unlike a traditional food hall, Wonder operates as one company controlling the entire process behind the scenes, from sourcing ingredients and managing kitchen operations to preparing, serving and delivering meals.

It means all of the food will be prepared on site at the Promenade, according to Madeleine Convery, marketing manager for Promenade Saucon Valley.

At a Wonder location, customers can order from multiple menus at once for dine-in, pickup or delivery.

The model lets diners mix and match cuisines in a single order, eliminating the need to choose just one restaurant.

While some menus are developed in partnership with well-known chefs or established restaurant brands, Wonder operates the kitchen, staff and technology that powers the experience, according to its website.

The company touts an "innovative turnkey system, including use of programmable TurboChef Double Batch Ovens to fully cook gourmet dishes for customers.

The concept differs from traditional “ghost kitchens,” which often lease space to independent restaurants.

Instead, Wonder says it functions as a vertically integrated operation, maintaining control over sourcing, food preparation and delivery, with a strong focus on convenience and efficiency.

At least 17 Pennsylvania locations

Concepts like Wonder have gained traction with shopping center owners as retail properties continue to emphasize dining and experiential tenants.

The Promenade Saucon Valley location is part of Wonder’s broader expansion across the Northeast, where the company has focused on suburban retail hubs and mixed-use developments.

Wonder has locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Virginia, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland and Massachusetts.

There are at least 17 Pennsylvania locations, including one in 195 N. West End Blvd., Quakertown.

On its website, the company says it's dedicated to becoming a leader in responsible and transparent food sourcing, with plans to use seasonal and organic ingredients and buy food grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

It also says it plans to source meat and poultry that is humanely raised and processed, without added antibiotics or hormones.

And it has plans to make an impact on the communities it serves by donating excess foods to help those facing hunger.

On Tuesday, at least 87 different restaurant options were available to order in Quakertown, including options from Burger Baby, Detroit Brick Pizza Co., Tejas Barbecue, Limesalt, Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson and more.

The new site at the Promenade will include space for customers to pick up orders and dine on site, while also serving as a delivery hub for the surrounding Lehigh Valley area.

When ordering online, a Wonder logo identifies "made at Wonder" items.
