BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Spring is here, the sun is out and better days seem ahead for residents of the Lehigh Valley.
It's also the perfect time for a local adventure.

Here's a list of popular activities to check out:
- Lehigh Valley IronPigs Opening Day. Happening Tuesday, April 4, it's the perfect sports event for the whole family. There will be live entertainment, lots of food options, and sports fun all night long.
- Bethlehem Bach Festival. Taking place May 19-20. Music lovers are sure to enjoy the tradition, which began in 1900. It includes guest artists-in-residence, featured young musicians, lectures and chorale sing-alongs with the audience.
- Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. The theme park opens May 13. The two parks have eight roller coasters and more than 100 rides total, as well as shows and other attractions. There’s something or every level of thrill seeker.
- The Lehigh Valley Viticultural Area. The Lehigh Valley has an abundance of wineries — more than 30 to explore on more than 230 planted acres.
- Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. Check out a mix of railroads, canals, rivers and trails that encompass 48 miles of Lehigh Valley.
- Lehigh Valley Trails. You don’t have to go far to escape your daily routine. Hiking local trails at natural landmarks such as Hawk Mountain Sanctuary or the Columcille Megalith Park are fun ways to spend an afternoon.
- Farmers markets. The area is famous for them. Easton Farmers’ Market, Bethlehem Rose Garden Farmers Garden, and Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market are great places for fresh, local produce, specialty drinks, food trucks, live music and entertainment, artisan crafts and decor, and more.
- Valley Preferred Cycling Center. It does more than just hold bike races for future stars and Olympians. It also has entertaining bike racing, fitness classes and more.
- Lehigh Valley Zoo. Located in Lehigh Valley’s Trexler Nature Preserve are more than 300 animals representing more than 100 species.
