Dan Kelly, who has fronted the band Fortunate Youth since its 2009 start, will perform a solo acoustic show at 6:30 p.m. March 19 at Rising River Brewing, 1955 Willow Lane.

Also appearing will be Cas Haley, who in 2007 finished second to comedic ventriloquist Terry Fator on "America's Got Talent."

They will be part of The Anthem Tour, which on various stops will feature a rotating lineup of Kevin Kinsella, John Landry and Ike Kanakanui.

Tickets, at $35 each, are available on the River Rising website.

Kelly will perform acoustic versions of fan-favorite songs from Fortunate Youth, accompanied by storytelling that gives glimpses behind the music.

Success of Fortunate Youth

Fortunate Youth, from California, released its debut EP, "Up-Lifted," in 2010, but first hit the Billboard chart in 2011 with its debut album "Irie State of Mind," which peaked at No. 13.

The group followed with three No. 1 albums on that chart: It's All A Jam," 2015's "Don't Think Twice" and its 2017 self-titled album.

Three of its live albums also hit No. 1: 2017's "Sugarshack Sessions, Vol. 1"; 2018's "Sugarshack Sessions, Vol. 2"; and 2019's "Sugarshack Sessions, Vol. 3."

Fortunate Youth also released three Top 10 EPs — 2014's "Dub Collections, Vol. 1," which peaked at No. 3; 2016's "Dub Collections, Vol. 2," which hit No. 6; and 2019's "Live Life," which hit No. 2.

The group's latest disc was 2021's "Good Times (Roll On)."

'Punch above our weight'

Haley, after his time on "Ameria's Got Talent," in 2008 hit No. 2 on the Reggae Albums chart with his self-titled debut.

His 2010 sophomore album "Connection" also peaked at No. 2.

He has released four albums since, with his most recent being 2021's "All the Right People."

Rising River owner and General Manager Ron Beitler said he was excited by the show's announcement.

“Music is at the core of the community we’ve fostered here on The River," Beitler said.

"For a space our size, we consistently punch above our weight bringing in artists who usually play much larger venues, which makes these shows rare opportunities to see national touring acts acoustic and up close."
