State Theatre announces 99th season: Chart-toppers, Broadway, theater, tribute bands and more

EASTON, Pa. — A Grammy Award-winning country/pop/bluegrass singer and a platinum-selling World Music group are highlights of State Theatre's 2025-26 season.

So is a chart-topping a cappella group that LehighValleyNews.com previously told you was coming.

There also will be tributes to Fleetwood Mac, Abba, Johnny Cash and Simon and Garfunkel, and the return of an ELO legacy act.

Those were among 39 shows the theater announced Wednesday for its 99th season, as it prepares to turn 100 in 2026.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale to theater members at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 at the State Theatre website or its box office at 453 Northampton St.

Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart, who in the 1990s had the hits "Tempted" and "This One's Gonna Hurt You (For a Long, Long Time)," will perform with his band His Fabulous Superlatives at 6 p.m. Oct. 19.

Stuart has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and won four.

Tickets are $48.95-$79.50.

French rumba flemenca band Gipsy Kings, whose 1987 self-titled album sold platinum and have since have had eight No. 1 albums on the World Music chart, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

It has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and won for Best Global Music Album for "Savor Flemenco" in 2013.

Tickets are $79.50-$139.50, with VIP packages available.

And Straight No Chaser, the popular a cappella group whose membership includes two Lehigh Valley natives and had a viral hit with its internet video of “Twelve Days of Christmas” mashed with Toto’s “Africa,” will perform two holiday shows, at 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 7, as LehighValleyNews.com reported last month.

The group has said it will release a new holiday album this year.

Tickets are $49.48-$85.

Unless otherwise noted, tickets for the shows will go on sale to theater members at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 at the State Theatre website of its box office at 453 Northampton St.

There is a 10-ticket limit per member per performance during members sales. Memberships to the non-profit theatre, starting at $75 a year, are available at the website.

‘Something for every generation’

"Featuring returning Easton favorites amidst brand new shows, the 2025–26 season offers something for every generation of the Lehigh Valley and beyond," State Theatre said in a release.

Among those favorites are tribute acts are Rumours of Fleetwood Mac on Oct. 30. Tickets are $48.95-$79.50. Mania: The ABBA Tribute, will be Jan. 9. Tickets are $38.45-$48.95.

The Johnny Cash Tribute The Folsom Prison Experience will be April 17, with tickets at $44.75-$75.50, and One Night of Queen, the Queen tribute performed by Gary Mullen & The Works, will close out the season on April 24. Tickets are $48.95-$75.50.

And The Simon & Garfunkel Story, a concert-style tribute, will perform March 20. Tickets are $59.45-$109.50, with VIP packages available.

A highlight of tribute-style acts will be The Orchestra, which stars former members of Electric Light Orchestra and ELO Part II and plays ELO's greatest hits, on March 14. Tickets are $48.95-$65.50.

Radio show, Riverdance, Red Hot

Other new shows include Mandy Patinkin in Concert: Jukebox, with Adam Ben-David on Piano at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10. Tickets are $69.50-$109.50.

Radio station CAT Country 96 Jingle Jam will return at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13, offering an intimate acoustic concert of future stars Nashville stars to be announced. Tickets are $34.25.

Riverdance will bring its 30th anniversary show Riverdance: The New Generation at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20. Tickets are $70.50-$185.50, with VIP Packages Available.

Another anniversary celebration will be The Ten Tenors 30th Anniversary Tour at 7:30 p.m. March 27. The show will feature a mix of classical crossover, Neapolitan classics and classic rock anthems from the Australian tenors. Tickets are $48.95-$89.50.

Also returning will be Red Hot Chilli Pipers, with special guest Liberty High School Grenadier Pipes & Drums at 7:30 p.m. March 12. It’s bagpipes and rock — Bagrock — with the internationally renowned ensemble. Tickets are $48.95.

More fun shows include Popovich Comedy Pet Theater at 3 p.m. Nov. 22. It's is a family-oriented blend of comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich and more than 30 pets in the show, all rescued shelter animals. Tickets are $31.10-$41.60.

Also, The Jokers of Magic at 7:30 p.m. March 21 is an irreverent night of comedy and magic that appeared on "America’s Got Talent" and "Penn & Teller’s Fool Us." The show is for ages 13 years and older. Tickets are $34.25-$44.75.

Christmas offerings

The season again will offer plenty of Christmastime offerings.

Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 4. Celebrating its 33rd annual tour, it has become a Christmas tradition featuring renowned ballerinas and danseurs from leading opera houses. Tickets are $44.75-$65.50.

Cirque Musica — Holiday Wonderland will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5. It offers circus artistry with holiday melodies. Tickets are $59.45-$79.50.

Champions of Magic: Holiday Spectacular will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11. An all-new show featuring illusions, magic and festive surprises for the whole family. Tickets are $59.45-$109.50.

Sister's Christmas Cathechism: The Mystery of the Magi’s Gold at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12. It's the latest in the Late Nite Catechism series, with a retelling the story of the nativity. Tickets are $50-$60.50.

Returning at 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 13 will be Christmas in the Air, a "family snow globe come to life" show with synchronized high-kicking Rockette-style dancers, singers and actors. Tickets are $55.25-$75.50.

Theater shows

And the State Theatre's new season also will have theater offerings.

Broadway's "Rock of Ages" band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28. All the band's members were selected from popular rock bands to bring a renewed life to the music and hits from the 1980s. Tickets are $44.75-$85.50.

Sleeping Beauty by International Ballet Stars will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17, offering Tchaikovsky’s score with magical stage design. Tickets are $55.25-$95.50.

And Menopause The Musical 2: Cruising Through 'The Change' will be 3 and 7 p.m. April 11, with a new soundtrack of parodied hits from the 1970s, '80s and '90s. Tickets are $48.95 - $65.50.

Previously announced shows

The newly announced shows are in addition to shows already announced for the 2025-26 season.

Those include popular Led Zeppelin tribute Get the Led Out on Sept. 5, The Australian Pink Floyd show on Sept. 12, and An Intimate Evening with Celtic Thunder on Sept. 13.

Also, the Taylor Swift tribute show Let's Sing Taylor on Sept. 20, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical "The Book of Mormon" on Sept. 27 and 28, and The Vampire Circus on Oct. 3.

Also, "America's Funniest People" winner comedian Vic DiBitetto on Oct. 11, comedian Lewis Black's farewell tour on Oct. 17 and Phil Collins tribute Hello I Must Be Going on Oct. 18.

Also, "America’s Got Talent" rescue dog show Mutts Gone Nuts on Oct. 12; orchestral rockers Wizards of Winter on Dec. 21; and the ballet Swan Lake with internationals stars on Oct. 26.

Also, The Beatles tribute The Fab Faux presents The Beatles Psychedelia 1966-1968, featuring The Hogshead Horns & The Crème Tangerine Strings on Nov. 8.

Also, Oh, What a Night of Doo Wop and Rock 'n' Roll featuring Jay Siegel’s Tokens, The Coasters, Chris Montez, The Fireflies, Classic Sounds, Tom Schizzano & The LAR Enterprises Band, and special guest star Jimmy Vlanton in his final performance and host Cool Bobby B of Sirius Radio's "50s on 5" on Nov. 15.

And "Sesame Street's" Elmo and Friends say Hello will perform Nov. 21.
