The announcement follows the announcement of the live stage show "Gabby's Dollhouse Live!" which features characters from the interactive preschool Netflix series "Gabby's Dollhouse," at 6 p.m. Jan. 27.

Tickets remain available for that show, at $45.28 to $221.

Dog Man: The Musical started as a children's graphic novel series that tells the adventures of a half-man, half-dog character who works as a police officer.

A 14th book in the series is set to be released Nov. 11.

Since starting in 2016, the Dog Man graphic novel series has sold more than 3.8 million copies, and in 2020 spurred a spin-off series, "Cat Kid Comic Club," that soon will release its sixth issue.

The movie this year has grossed nearly $150 million.

It debuted Off-Broadway in 2019.

The State Theatre website says the stage production seeks to answer whether, "while trying his best to be a good boy, can he save the city from Flippy the cyborg fish and his army of Beasty Buildings?"

"Can he catch Petey, the world’s most evil cat, who has cloned himself to exact revenge on the doggy do-gooder? And will George and Harold finish their show before lunchtime?"
