The U.S. women's national team celebrates with the trophy after winning the 2019 Women's World Cup final soccer match against Netherlands at the Stade de Lyon in Decines, outside Lyon, France.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Looking to watch the top-ranked U.S. women’s soccer team with other fans in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup?

ArtsQuest will once again host its SoccerFest and viewing parties, starting Friday.

  • The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is underway in Australia and New Zeland
  • The U.S. team plays Vietnam at 9 p.m. Friday
  • It's the first of three scheduled viewing parties at SteelStacks over the next several weeks

The Women’s World Cup is being held in Australia and New Zealand, which means matches will be viewable here in the late-night and early-morning hours.

SoccerFest kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Friday with the Lehigh Valley United Girls’ 3-on-3 Tournament at ArtsQuest’s PNC Plaza, at the western edge of the blast furnaces.

After the tournament, there will be a viewing of the U.S. vs. Vietnam World Cup game at PNC Plaza, starting at 9 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 26, the Lehigh University women’s soccer team will host a youth soccer clinic for kids ages 6 to 12 at 7:30 p.m. That will be followed by a viewing party at 9 p.m. at Air Products Town Square, just outside the ArtsQuest Center. The U.S. is playing the Netherlands that night.

The events are free, with food and beverages available for purchase through ArtsQuest.

SoccerFest will conclude on Sunday, Aug. 20, with the Women’s World Cup final. That final viewing party will be held at 6 a.m. inside the ArtsQuest Center, regardless of the teams in the final.

“We’re really excited to produce these events highlighting one corner of the exponential growth women’s sports has seen in recent years.”
Ryan Hill, ArtsQuest senior director of programming

The U.S. women’s team is going for its third consecutive World Cup title.

Previous World Cup viewing parties at SteelStacks have drawn large crowds. Parking is free but limited, so organizers suggest arriving early.

“We’re really excited to produce these events highlighting one corner of the exponential growth women’s sports has seen in recent years,” Ryan Hill, ArtsQuest’s senior director of programming, said in a news release.

“Putting the (U.S. women’s national team) on big screens reflects the larger-than-life status these players have with the children of the Lehigh Valley and the rest of the country.”
