Creedence Clearwater Revival singer John Fogerty will perform at Wind Creek Event Center on Nov. 8.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A singer who with his swamp-rock band had 17 gold and platinum hits in just three years, 1968-71, then had 13 more Top 40 hits in a 1970s and '80s solo career, will return to Wind Creek Event Center, it was announced.

John Fogerty, who with the group Creedence Clearwater Revival sold 30 million albums — 13 of which sold gold or platinum — will perform his Legacy Tour at 8 p.m. Nov. 8.

Tickets, at $69.50 to $139.50, are on sale now at the Wind Creek Event Center website and at the box office at 77 Wind Creek Blvd., Bethlehem.

Fogerty, 80, founded Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1967, and in 1968 released its debut album, which contained the hits "Suzie Q" and "I Put a Spell on You."

It had even more success with the 1969 disc "Bayou Country," which introduced the platinum hits "Proud Mary" and "Born on the Bayou."

The 1969 album had four gold and platinum hits — including "Bad Moon Rising" and "Green River" — and 1969's "Willy and the Poor Boys" continued the success with the double-platinum "Down on the Corner" and the group's biggest hit, the eight-times-platinum "Fortunate Son."

Group breaks up, and solo success

The group continued to top the charts through 1972, with another eight-times-platinum hit, "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," and others such as "Up Around the Bend" and "Lookin' Out My Back Door."

Creedence Clearwater Revival's last gold hit was 1971's "Sweet Hitch-Hiker," and the group broke up in 1972, though a 1976 Greatest His album sold 12 times platinum.

Fogerty released his first solo album, "The Blue Ridge Rangers," in 1973, but had his biggest solo success with his 1985 album "Centerfield."

That disc had the No. 1 hit "The Old Man Down the Road" and the Top 5 hit title song.

Fogerty has released eight albums since, including "Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years," released last week, on which he re-recorded 20 Creedence Clearwater Revival hits.

Fogerty also performed at the event center, then called Sands Bethlehem, in 2014.
