BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A singer who may have invented the shock-rock music will perform at Wind Creek Event Center, it was announced.
Alice Cooper, who has had 10 Top 40 albums and 11 Top 40 singles, including “School’s Out,” “Elected” and “Only Women Bleed,” will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 16.

Cooper, 77, is best known for his elaborate shows that draw from horror films for a macabre and theatrical brand of rock designed to shock audiences.
He broke onto the national scene as part of his eponymously named group with the song “Eighteen” in 1970, and with the band released five gold and platinum albums.
The group had four more Top 40 hits: "Schools Out," "Elected," "Hello Hooray" and "Nor More Mr. Nice Guy."
Solo success, and area shows
Cooper then went solo in 1975, and continued with the hits "Only Women Bleed," "I Nevet Cry," "You and Me," “Welcome to My Nightmare,” "How You Gonna See Me Now" and "Poison.”
In all, he has had 10 gold and platinum albums, including four platinum albums in a row from 1971-73. Eleven of his albums have hit the Top 40.
His most recent album was 2023's "Road."

Cooper was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
Cooper played Wind Creek in 2022, and, when it was called Sands Bethlehem Event Center, with the rock super group Hollywood Vampires in 2016 and 2018.
He also played Allentown's PPL Center in 2019, opened for Motley Crue’s farewell tour show at Allentown Fair in 2014, and headlined Bethlehem’s Musikfest festival in 2004.
