BETHLEHEM, Pa. — PBS39 is reaching into The Vault — literally — for Friday night programming with a retro feel.
"The Vault" is Lehigh Valley Public Media’s collection of original PBS39 programming through the years, plus community content made in the Lehigh Valley.
At 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, PBS39 will present “The Fries Rebellion,” a historical docudrama produced by Lower Macungie Township Historical Society. (PBS39 will repeat the program at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15).
It details the tax revolt by Pennsylvania German farmers in the Lehigh Valley region in the 1790s.
At 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, the lineup includes “Rooted: A Story of Artists Embracing Place.” “Rooted” traces the beginnings of Bethlehem’s modern-day arts scene and some of the figures who led the way.
Later that night, at 9:15 p.m., “Hidden Seeds: Bethlehem’s Forgotten Utopia” will air. It’s a dramatic production by Touchstone Theatre on the role of Moravian women.
On Friday, Nov. 28, the focus is football. PBS39 at 7 that night will present “The Lehigh-Lafayette Legacy” about the most-played rivalry in college football.
In December, The Vault will go back to PBS39’s “Communities” series, with 7 p.m. showings of “Communities: Allentown” on Friday, Dec. 12; “Communities: Bethlehem” on Friday, Dec. 19; and “Communities: Easton” on Friday, Dec. 26.
PBS39 is part of Lehigh Valley Public Media along with 91.3 WLVR and LehighValleyNews.com.
