NORTHAMPTON Pa — An actor and musician who in the early 2000s was an adolescent star on hit Nickelodeon TV channel shows will return to the area, it was announced.
Drake Bell, best known for his starring roles on Nickelodeon’s “The Amanda Show” with Amanda Bynes from 1999-02, and “Drake & Josh” from 2004-07, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at Gin Mill and Grille, at 1750 Main St., Northampton.
Opening the show will be Berk County hip-hop artist Leon Budrow.

The show is for ages 21 and older.
Bell, now 39, has been a musician since his time on those shows. He wrote and performed “Found a Way,” the opening theme song to “Drake & Josh.”
Bell released a new album, "Non-Stop Flight," in October. It was his sixth album since his 2005 "Telegraph,” but his first in four years, since 2020s "Sesiones en Casa."

Bell's 2006 disc, “It’s Only Time” hit the Top 25 on Billboard’s Rock chart and had the single “Makes Me Happy,” which hit No. 3 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under chart.
“Ready Steady Go!,” released in 2014, hit No. 50 on the Rock chart and No. 32 on the Indie chart. He also has released three EPs.
In 2005, he also released a soundtrack album for “Drake & Josh,” and in 2007 was featured on the Top 100 hit “Leave It All to Me” by Miranda Cosgrove.
Bell received the Kids Choice Award for Favorite Actor for his role on “Drake & Josh” three years in a row 2006-08 and the 2008 Teen Choice Award for Breakout Actor for “Superhero Movie.”
In addition to his Nickelodeon series, Bell starred in a trilogy of “The Fairly OddParents” movies on Nickelodeon and was the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man” on Disney XD. He also appeared on ABC’s reality TV series “Splash.”
In all, he has appeared on more than 50 television series and appeared in or done voice work in more than 40 movies.
Bell performed at Signature Event Center in Brodheadsville in January. He also played the former OneCenterSquare nightclub in Easton in 2018, and in 2009 headlined the Rock The Fall music festival at Blue Mountain Ski Area near Palmerton.
