Lehigh Valley Public Media staffers recognized with Mid-Atlantic Emmy nominations

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Several staffers and journalists at Lehigh Valley Public Media earned Emmy nominations this week.

The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy nominees were announced Tuesday.

PBS39’s ‘’A Community Conversation: Immigration Close to Home” was nominated in the Public Affairs Program category.

Recorded live at Univest Public Media Center, the program aired in February and examined local impact and analysis of the Trump administration’s new immigration policy.

Nominees included host and producer Brittany Sweeney, director Javier Diaz, producer Grover Silcox, editor Samantha Bode, director of broadcast design Jessica Lee, videographers Jeffrey Frederick and Eric Werner, audio engineer Charles Serra and engineer Zach Wisneskie.

Also earning a nomination in the Sports Story-Short category was a feature on Darian Cruz, the Bethlehem Catholic and Lehigh University wrestler who would go on to compete for Puerto Rico at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Among the team receiving Emmy nominations were reporter Phil Gianficaro, director Javier Diaz, editor Samantha Bode and videographers Jeffrey Frederick and Eric Werner.

The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards will be presented Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
