BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A Bethlehem club will hold a funny night for a serious cause.
Godfrey Daniels, the venerable folk music club in South Bethlehem, on Saturday will hold a special Benefit Stand-Up Comedy Night in support of the North Carolina Arts Community ravaged by Hurricane Helene.
The show, at 8 p.m. at the club at 7 E. Fourth St., will offer comedians Tyler Rothrock, Jake Domanski, Stef K, Ice Jackson and Kate Hughes in a special Comedy Relief Benefit Night, with all proceeds going to LEAF Global Arts.
"As we continue to feel the aftershocks of Hurricane Helene, the impact on the artistic communities of Appalachia, particularly in Asheville, North Carolina, is becoming painfully clear. These are the people who have always brought us joy through their art and music, often giving everything they have, and now, they are the ones in need."Godfrey Daniels, in a news release
Admission will be a suggested $10 donation at the door. Patrons are asked to donate more if possible.
Godfrey Daniels also is asking for RSVPs at its website to get a seat count.

"With venues destroyed and gigs canceled, many artists are left without the income needed to support their families, pets and homes."
Who are the performers?
The release says Leaf Global Arts is "an incredible organization dedicated to helping the artists hardest hit by the storm."
"Based in Asheville, NC, Leaf Global Arts has been a pillar of the local arts community, and we personally know that every dollar they receive will go directly into the hands of those who need it most," it says.
The club also asked even those who can’t attend the event to consider donating directly to the Leaf Global Arts Artists Relief Fund through its website.
Godfrey Daniels, which has been in operation more than 48 years, offered its first headline comedy show on May 30.
