McCreery beat Lauren Alaina to win the 10th season of “American Idol” in 2011.
His debut album, “Clear as Day,” in 2011 hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Albums chart — making him the first country artist ever to debut at No. 1 — and went platinum.
The disc had two Top 20 country singles that both went platinum: “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls.”
McCreery won the Best New Artist award from the American Country Awards in 2011 and the Academy of Country Music in 2012.
Another No. 1 single this year
He released a holiday album, "Christmas with Scotty McCreery," in 2012 that achieved gold status and hit No. 2 on the Country chart.
His third disc, 2013’s “See You Tonight,” also went to No. 1 on the Country chart, and gave McCreery his first Top 10 on the country charts with the title track.
That went platinum and a second song from that disc, “Feelin’ It,” also went Top 15 and sold gold.
A second holiday album, "Seasons Change," in 2018 also topped the Country chart and sold gold, with what has become his biggest hit, the triple-platinum, chart-topping song “Five More Minutes.”
“Seasons Change” also produced the platinum hit “This is It” and the gold hit “In Between.”
In all, McCreery, now 32, has had 12 Top 20 Country songs, six of which hit No. 1, and has sold more than 4 million albums.Billboard music charts
