EASTON, Pa. — After a three-year hiatus, yoga enthusiasts can once again practice under the planets as the Nurture Nature Center (NNC) is collaborating with Easton Yoga on a yoga program.
- Nurture Nature Center and Easton Yoga offer "Yoga Under the Sphere" again after a three-year pause
- It's an immersive yoga experience that includes visual presentations from NNC's Science on a Sphere projection system
- The event is held at the Nurture Nature Center and supports NNC programs. Participants are advised to bring their own mats and props and register through Easton Yoga's website
The event, called Yoga Under the Sphere, takes place on Friday, April 7, and welcomes all participants regardless of their level of experience.
The unique yoga class invites participants to enjoy a presentation from the NNC staff while practicing yoga. The Center's Science on a Sphere is a projection system that displays global data and can create an immersive experience for viewers.
"There are over 200 science-on-the-sphere set-ups throughout the world, but Nurture Nature Center is the only facility that has yoga under the sphere."Alicia Rambo, owner of Easton Yoga
"There are over 200 science-on-the-sphere set-ups throughout the world, but Nurture Nature Center is the only facility that has yoga under the sphere," said Alicia Rambo, owner of Easton Yoga.
"The programming on the sphere can vary from celestial objects, such as planets in our solar system, to more science-based programming, such as ocean, temperatures throughout the year, rainfall, and earthquake activity," she added.
In addition to providing an unusual yoga experience, a portion of the profits from the event will support NNC programs.
"Easton Yoga has always loved doing collaborations with local businesses and community centers," Rambo said. "We have always been a big supporter of their (NNC) programming and community outreach programs."
Officials say they're expecting between 12 and 20 people for the event.
The event will be held at the Nurture Nature Center, located at 518 Northampton Street, right next door to Easton Yoga.
Participants are advised to bring their own mats and props and arrive early to ensure they have time to check in and set up. The program runs from 6-7:30 p.m.
People can register for the event at Easton Yoga's website.
