Famed comedian coming to Easton's State Theatre. 'You just might' want to go see him

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy will perform at Easton's State Theatre on April 9. Tickets go on sale Friday.

EASTON, Pa. — A comedian who had his own situation comedy TV show, was part of a hugely successful comedy tour and had five gold and platinum comedy albums will perform at Easton's State Theatre.

Jeff Foxworthy, whose catchphrase is “You just might be a redneck,” will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, it was announced.

Tickets, at $76.50–$125.50, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the State Theatre website and the box office at 453 Northampton St.

Foxworthy first became famous with his 1993 comedy album “You Might Be a Redneck If …,” which sold triple-platinum and topped the comedy albums chart.

He followed that with 1995’s “Games Rednecks Play,” which also sold triple platinum and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Comedy Album.

A 1996 album “Crank It Up: The Music Album,” also went platinum, and 1998’s “Totally Committed” went gold and also got a Grammy nomination.

A 1999 compilation album, "Greatest Bits," also sold gold.

His 2012 album “Them Idiots: Whirled Tour,” with Bill Engvall and Larry The Cable Guy, also topped the comedy chart.

Blue Collar comedy

With Engvall, Larry The Cable Guy and Ron White, Foxworthy formed the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which ran successfully for three years, then in 2004 prompted the “Blue Collar TV” show on the WB Television Network, Comedy Central and Comedy Network and later on Country Music Television.

Foxworthy also starred in his own situation comedy, “The Jeff Foxworthy Show,” on ABC and NBC for two seasons, and was host for the game show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” on Fox from 2009-11.

For three seasons, he was host of “The American Bible Challenge” on GSN, had an animated series “Bounty Hunters” on CMT, was host of the reality series “The American Baking Competition” for CBS and narrated the Lifetime reality show “The Week the Women Left.”

In 2015, he launched a comedy channel, “Jeff and Larry’s Comedy Roundup” on SIRIUSXM, which showcased the best in great American comedy.

Foxworthy also was among the judges on the NBC comedy competition show “Bring The Funny” in 2019, and in 2020 hosted the live auction show “What’s It Worth?” on A&E.

Foxworthy has written more than 25 books including several based on his redneck jokes, as well as an autobiography, “No Shirt, No Shoes … No Problem!”
