Iron Menace Lager will be available at Dorney Park, one of Illuminations' tasting rooms, Shangy's in Emmaus, or select local retailers, grocery stores, and small beer distributors across Eastern Pennsylvania.

SOUTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has turned to a regional craft brewery to celebrate the opening of the park’s new Iron Menace roller coaster.

Illumination Brewing — owner of Emmaus’ Funk Brewing — soon will release Iron Menace Lager, according to a release Tuesday announcing the partnership.

The brew “embraces the rich history of the Lehigh Valley, paying homage to the region’s successful lagers, delivering a smooth and light taste that perfectly complements a hot summer day,” the release said.

Funk is known for a diverse lineup of beer, including seasonal favorites and small batches. It says Iron Menace Lager will be crafted with American barley, corn and hops, and will be available at various locations in mid-April.

Iron Menace makes first test run

"Funk is amazing. This beer is incredible, and we're just excited to share it with everyone as we forge our own fate this summer," Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom Public Relations and Communications Manager Ryan Eldredge said.

“We are fired up for the 2024 season.”

Iron Menace Lager will be available at Dorney Park, at Illumination’s tasting rooms, Shangy’s in Emmaus and at select retailers, grocery stores and small beer distributors in Eastern Pennsylvania, the release says.

“We are so excited to be working with Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom to bring this great American lager, and some of our other incredible adult beverage options, to the park this summer,” Illumination Brewing owner Chris White said.

Iron Menace, the Northeast’s first-ever dive roller coaster, will be ready for guests to ride during a two-weekend event prior to the season opening of the park on May 10.

Dorney Park announced last week that the public will get a chance to ride the new roller coaster during Preseason Preview Days to be held on April 27 and 28, as well as May 4 and 5.

During the event guests will get the chance to experience Iron Menace and enjoy early access to select rides and coasters.
