BETHLEHEM, Pa. — They're two entities that have resulted in some of the most enduring music of our lifetimes.
Christmas, of course, has produced carols and hymns aplenty.
And The Beatles, well, that band produced 37 Top 25 hits, with 22 of them hitting No. 1 and many becoming timeless classics.
Wind Creek Event Center will bring the two together for a holiday show, with Beatles tribute act Rain performing a Christmas tribute at 8 p.m. Dec. 5.
Tickets, at $39.50-$59.50, went on sale Friday at the event center website and at its box office at 77 Wind Creek Blvd., Bethlehem.
"Hear holiday favorites alongside the legendary sounds of the Beatles," the event center says on its website.
"This festive celebration blends the magic of the holidays with the unforgettable music you know and love. It’s an evening perfect for families, friends and Beatles fans of all ages."
Plenty of songs from which to choose
Rain has performed on Broadway. Its publicity materials call it a live multi-media spectacular that takes the audience “on a musical journey through the life and times of the world’s most celebrated band."
It offers a range of The Beatles discography, including "the most complex and challenging songs that The Beatles recorded in the studio but never performed for an audience."
Publicity materials don't say what Christmas songs will be performed, but The Beatles released Christmas albums, performing standard holiday fare, in 1963, '64 and '65.
But the best may be Paul McCartney's hit version of "Wonderful Christmastime" in 1980, and John Lennon's memorable "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" with Plastic Ono Band in 1971.
Rain previously performed at Wind Creek Event Center when it was Sands Bethlehem Event Center in 2019, 2016 and 2014, and at Lehigh University’s Zoellner Arts Center in 2012.
