State Theatre in Easton has scheduled three shows in one day on April 19. Tickets are on sale.

EASTON, Pa. — Easton's State Theatre has announced three new shows.

And all will be on the same day.

In a scheduling that State Theatre President Shelley Brown said is "unusual, for sure," the theater will offer performances of:

  • The Magical Music of Harry Potter: Live in Concert at 1 p.m.
  • The Music of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Rings of Power in concert at 4:30 p.m.
  • And The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others: A Celebration of Film Music, presented by a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean at 8 p.m.
Tickets for all three shows — at $59.90–$89.90 for each — are on sale at the State Theatre website and at the venue website at 453 Northampton St., Easton.

Tickets for all three shows — at $59.90–$89.90 for each — are on sale at the State Theatre website and at the venue website at 453 Northampton St., Easton.

The shows are being presented by a single outside promoter, Star Entertainment, whom Brown said "was really excited to do three."

The theatre sometimes does two shows in a day — a cappella group Straight No Chaser did two shows just last Sunday.

Brown said The State many years ago did three performances of "The Nutcracker," but hasn't done three shows in a day in recent years.

"We'll see how it goes," she said.

Details of the shows

The theater said in a release that The Magical Music of Harry Potter is "an audience favorite" and will include "a special guest from the Harry Potter films and universe."

The program will include film soundtracks by five-time Oscar winner John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper and Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat.

In addition, the audience can expect "advanced light and laser technology as well as a unique sound dimension."

"The visual and magical effects will get the hearts of all Harry Potter fans beating a little faster while listening to the concert."

The Music of Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Rings of Power in concert is described as "a symphonic orchestra and the Oscar-winning music of Ed Sheeran, Howard Shore, Annie Lennox, Enya and more great composers."

The music covers “Lord of The Rings,” “The Hobbit” and “The Rings of Power.”

A "special guest from the films" also will attend this show, according to a release.

The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others: A Celebration of Film Music will offer the music from the James Bond films, "The Lion King," "The Pirates of the Caribbean," "Gladiator," "The Dark Knight," "Top Gun," "Dune" and more.

The show will include an "audiovisual experience" as well as "light installations, laser projections, selected film clips and soloists from the Original Broadway Production performing excerpts from “The Lion King,” the release said.
