BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Music lovers across the board — those who enjoy it, produce it, perform it and teach it — have another something to check out alongside the Musikfest action this week.
Workshops, networking and question-and-answer sessions with esteemed names of the industry will all be on site at ArtsQuest Center, 101 Founders Way, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Keynote speakers, among many additional speakers, include José Valentino Ruiz, four-time Latin GRAMMY Award-winning cross-genre artist; and Alain Barker, entrepreneurship and professional development director with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
A taste of the action
With professional development certificates available following the event, ArtsQuest said attendees will have a chance to:
- Explore the intersections of both the music industry and music education sectors of the art form
- Learn more about publishing their own work
- Better market themselves as performers and teachers
- See how artificial intelligence crosses paths with the music industry
- Learn how to broaden their lyric-writing capabilities
- And more
“This conference is ideal for practicing and amateur musicians, music business professors and enthusiasts,” ArtsQuest said in a news release.
” … Don’t miss this chance to be part of a transformative experience that will empower you both professionally and creatively.”
“This is an event that musicians, students, teachers and amateurs will definitely want to take advantage of as you can learn all about the industry during the morning and then experience the industry in action at Musikfest both nights."Marissa Guarriello, ArtsQuest director of programming for music
“This is an event that musicians, students, teachers and amateurs will definitely want to take advantage of as you can learn all about the industry during the morning and then experience the industry in action at Musikfest both nights — putting theory into practice doesn’t get much more accessible than this,” said Marissa Guarriello, ArtsQuest director of programming for music.
Full-conference general admission is $90, while one-day passes are $50 ($40 for students).
You can add a Musikfest mug and single general admission ticket to a show at the Mainstage for $20.
Further professional development available
ArtsQuest also is encouraging those attending the conference to also sign up for the F-Flat Annual Back to School Symposium — a virtual, “pay-what-you-wish” professional development event, hosted by F-flat Books, a publisher of music literature.
“With over 30 on-demand sessions and live keynotes from thought leaders in music education, symposium attendees can access professional development on a variety of topics for months to come,” said ArtsQuest.
Tickets for the symposium can be bought using one’s conference registration, according to the release.
