ALLENTOWN, Pa. — You could say the new Archer Music Hall has been "vindicated" with its latest concert announcement.
An April 14 concert at the venue by Dashboard Confessional, whose 2000 album “The Swiss Army Romance” is largely viewed as the creation of emo rock music, went on sale Friday morning.
And by Sunday morning, it was functionally sold out.
That makes it the fastest sellout so far for the venue, which opened March 8 in downtown Allentown.
You can still get tickets to the show — as of Sunday morning, two premium balcony seats at $129.80 remained for sale at the Archer website or the box office at 939 Hamilton St.Archer Music Hall website
You can still get tickets to the show — as of Sunday morning, verified resale tickets for the general admission standing floor also were available, but they start at $120.44 — a 130% markup for tickets that originally cost $52.50.
Dashboard Confessional is among just a few acts that have sold out the 1,600-capacity main venue since its opening 11 months ago, and by far the fastest sellout.
It also suggests the kinds of broader-appeal acts Archer should consider booking.
Success of recent bookings
Dashboard Confessional arguably defined emo music with the release of its 2000 disc “The Swiss Army Romance” and its single "Screaming Infidelities," which hit No. 22 on the Modern Rock chart.
Its best-selling single, 2004's "Vindicated," hit No. 2 on Billboard's Alternative chart and reached No. 31 on the Pop chart.
The group later had three gold albums, and in 2018 headlined Bethlehem's massive Musikfest festival.
Tickets for rock group Buckcherry also went on sale Friday, and as of Sunday morning, just 43 seated tickets remained at $70.80-$106.20, and general admission standing floor tickets seemed to be selling well.Archer Music Hall website
Similarly, rock band Buckcherry, known best for its 2006 quadruple-platinum hit "Crazy Bitch" and 2007's double-platinum "Sorry," will perform at Archer on May 19.

Dashboard Confessional's most recent album was 2022's "All the Truth That I Can Tell."
It played Sands Bethlehem Event Center, now called Wind Creek Event Center, with All American Rejects in May 2017, drawing about 2,000 people.
