Diawara, who recently released new music, will take the stage on Tuesday, April 25.
The Malian singer-songwriter and multi-Grammy nominee combines the Wassoulous traditions of Southern Mali with R&B and funk sounds.
Her vivid and original songs cover subjects as love, respect, migration, family and how to build a better world.
Her new single follows her forthcoming album’s debut track “Nsera.”
The singer said the song, “Massa Den” is inspired by the love she has for her homeland.
“Love is free, love cannot be forced upon someone. Let those who love each other be together. Who has upset the man my heart and soul have chosen? Who is talking behind my lover’s back. He is the one who carries the hope of a nation on his shoulders. Don’t mess about with Mansaden, the king’s son, the prince and the man I love.”
"London Ko," Diawara's new album, will be released next month.
Tickets cost $29 for the general public, $6 for students.
