BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A casino entertainment center might not seem a great fit for a children's show.

But Wind Creek Event Center has a perfectly good explanation for presenting a show by Blippi, the curious and colorful character who teaches preschoolers on YouTube, Netflix, HBO Max and more.

Blippi's Join the Band Tour will perform at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the event center, it has been announced.

Tickets, at $29.50-$75.50, go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. June 6 at the event center website or at the box office at 77 Wind Creek Blvd., Bethlehem.

Patrons ages 2 and younger who can remain on a parent or guardian's lap will be admitted free.

The website doesn't address the length of the show, but Blippi: The Wonderful World Tour performed at Allentown Fair grandstand last year and the cast's entire time on stage was 55 minutes, plus a 20-minute intermission.

A show of similar length at Wind Creek would end at 7:20 p.m.

"C’mon and join Blippi to make music in your hometown in the brand new live Blippi: Join the Band Tour!"the Wind Creek website says.

"Blippi will be joined onstage by Meekah, their singing and dancing buddies and musicians to explore what makes music, including sounds, rhythms and instruments, through all your favorite Blippi hits.

"So grab your drumsticks, tune up your guitar, and move those feet with Blippi and get ready for a musical performance that’s fun for the whole family!"

Blippi inspires curiosity in children by creating content and experiences that are relatable, accessible and make learning fun. He has attracted more than 1 billion monthly views across all platforms.

"We are a drop-in, first-come-first-serve, hourly child care center. We are here for you if you ever need a night out, a break, or if your sitter cancels on the night of a show or event at the property."

That might seem an odd choice for a casino, where the age to step inside is 21 and older.

But the Blippi show is being presented by Kids & Cyber Quest, the family-friendly gaming location in the Outlets at Wind Creek, the resort's on-site shopping mall.

The resort describes Kids Quest as "the leading destination for family-friendly games and entertainment in Bethlehem."

It "offers hourly child-care and entertainment for children ages 30 months through 12 years ... we make it easy for adults to enjoy free time, while kids enjoy play time," the resort website says.

"We are a drop-in, first-come-first-serve, hourly child care center," it says. "We are here for you if you ever need a night out, a break, or if your sitter cancels on the night of a show or event at the property."

Kids Quest features "the very latest in video games, music, crafts and other unique activities," the website says.

Blippi background

Blippi was created by Stevin John, who posted the first episode featuring the character, featuring the orange-and-blue beanie, suspenders and bowtie-wearing character with tractors.

But Blippi caught far more attention starting in 2020, when he began being distributed on other platforms by Moonbug Entertainment.

Blippi now is available in more than 20 languages, including American Sign Language, and is distributed by more than 30 global broadcast and streaming partners.

Blippi’s buddies Meekah and Juca have spun off into their own shows, and he releases popular music tracks and has in-demand toys available at major retailers.

Blippi has expanded to be portrayed by other actors in live presentations.

The Allentown Fair show by Blippi drew about 3,000 people. Wind Creek Event Center has a capacity of about 2,500 for a reserved-seating show.

Blippi The World Tour also appeared at Easton's State Theatre in March 2023.
