Studio 11 is a well-outfitted recording studio in the basement of the Bethlehem Area Public Library.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — With a new "Spinal Tap" movie released this year, a musical fundraiser whose name was inspired by the original film also will return, organizers announced.

Bethlehem Area Public Library's annual 11Fest fundraising concert, which seeks to turn up the volume — and donations — to 11, is set for 5-11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 (11/11).

The concert, which raises funds for the library's Studio 11 — the free, public-use recording studio in the library's basement — will be inside the Main Library at 11 W. Church St.

Tickets remain a suggested donation of $11 and are available on the Studio 11 webpage, but donations are always welcome.

Now in its seventh year, it will feature 11 performers playing bluegrass, folk, indie, rock and more.

Scheduled are AFBA Youth Musicians, Crepehanger, William H. Travis, Hissyfit, Dear Misty, Airspace, Lunar Pools, Azuca, Leadpetal, PHE and Ultra Death Cult.

The lineup is subject to change.

Each performer gets a little bit louder until the end, "when they turn it up to 11 and blow the roof off the place (and the books off the shelves, so to speak)," Library Executive Director Josh Berk, a musician, said in a release.

Tickets remain a suggested donation of $11 and are available on the Studio 11 webpage, but donations are always welcome.

'Energy of 11Fest is remarkable'

11Fest is named after a scene from the beloved 1984 comedy mockumentary film "This Is Spinal Tap" in which the band is able to play louder than everyone else because its amplifiers go up to 11, not just 10.

A sequel, "Spinal Tap II: The End Continues," was released Sept. 12 and stars all the original actorsChristopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer — as members of the fictional heavy metal band reuniting for one final show.

"It’s a day (and night) filled with great sounds, friendly faces, and the kind of positive energy that makes Bethlehem shine."

"The energy of 11Fest is remarkable," Berk said in the release. "It’s a celebration of local talent, creativity, and community spirit.

"Each year brings together a wonderful mix of performers and music lovers. It’s a day (and night) filled with great sounds, friendly faces, and the kind of positive energy that makes Bethlehem shine."

Studio 11 is a community-focused studio in the basement of the library that is open and free for anyone to record music, rehearse and connect with new people.

"Whether you have benefitted personally from the studio or are just looking for a fun night out at the library, 11Fest is an exciting opportunity to hear some of the very best local performers rocking out in the library," the release said.
